Isaac Rose was born in 1747, this birth date was deduced from a sworn statement Isaac Rose made on May 31, 1819 in support of his request for a pension for his Revolutionary War service. It is possible, but not proven, that he was born in Doylestown, PA.

He served in the Alexander L. Smith Company which he joined on August 1, 1776, then serving in Colonel Rawlings Continental Regiment, then to Colonel Hall's 4th Maryland Regiment. He was in the battles of Trenton, Princeton, Brandywine, Germantown and Monmouth and was discharged on August 9, 1779 by Captain Adamson Tannahill.

Isaac Rose then served in the Washington County Militia.
