Funeral services in monory of Lewis S. Bowers, who died in his home, 264 Spring, Youngstown, Tuesday after a long illness which followed a general physical collapse, were held yesterday.
Mr. Bowers, who was a son of the late Samuel and Louisa Vath Bowers, was born September 27, 1861, at Sandy Lake, Pa. He came to Youngstown 30 years ago and for 18 years was employed as a printer by the Telegram Co. Later he was with the Herald in Sharon, Pa. Several years ago he returned to Youngstown and was employed by the Republic Rubber Co., and for seven months preceding his illness he was engaged for the governmanet as inspector at the plant of the General Fireproofing Co. He was a member of the First Christian Church and is survived by his mother and one sister, Mrs. Newton E. Holland, both of Youngstown.
The funeral was a t 7:30 p.m., Wednesday from the residence, 264 Spring, with Rev. L. G. Bateman officating. The body was taken to Sandy Lake this morning for interment in Oak Hill Cemetery there. - Youngstown Vindicator.
