Mercer, Sara Exelonia Urey

A prayer service for Exie Urey Mercer, late of San Mateo, Ca. was held last Saturday, Nov. 27, at the Miller Funeral Home with Rev. J. Charles Paul, pastor of the First United Presbyterian church, officiating. (Date of death is not listed in the obituary.) Interment was made in Mercer.
Mrs. Mercer was a native of Mill Creek Township, being a daughter of the late Henry and Sara Leyda Urey, who were pioneers of Eastern Mercer county, and was born January 18, 1860.
She united with the North Sandy United Presbyterian church at an early age and was also a memeber of the Sheridan Chapter, O. E. S.
She was married to Henry H. Mercer on Aoril 2, 1895, in Mercer, at the home of her late brother, A. P. Urey.
She and her husband, a conductor on the Pennsylvania railroad, spent their entire married life in the Sheridan, Pittsburgh area. At the death of her husband in 1911, Mrs. Mercer with an only son, located in Calif.
She is survived by her son, Harry T. Mercer, a brother H. M. Urey of Fredonia and a number of nieces and nephews.
