D. Herman Burdette, 2511 Lake St., Stoneboro, died Sunday evening, 7-28-96, at home, after an extended illness. Mr. Burdette was born Aug. 9, 1911, in Worth Twp. to Lester and Susan Rosetta Smith Burdette. He retired as a drill press operator, Sep. 1,1973, after 32 1/2 years of service, with the former Sharon Transformer Division of Westinghouse Electric Corp. A member of the Sandy Lake Wesleyan Church. Surviving are his wife, the former Elaine Bowers, whom he married Mar 9, 1935; three daughters, Mrs. Don (Lavina) Varner, Hadley, Dorothy Eakman, Sandy Lake, and Mrs. Robert (Nancy) Shepard, Stoneboro, eight grandchildren,12 great grandchildren, a great great grandson, a step great grandchild, and two step great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by five brothers, Elton, Charles, Norris, Clarence and Oscar, and a sister, Villa Elford. Burial is July 31,1996,at Oakhill Cemetery, Sandy Lake Twp.
