Carl E. HILDEBRAND, 57 Columbia Ave, Greenville, was dead on arrival at Greenville Hospital at 12:15pm Saturday following a heart attack. He had been in failing health for the past six years. He was 61. He was born in New Castle Aug 8, 1908, a son of Charles C and Chrystle MITCHELL Hildebrand. He and his father operated the Hildebrand Grocery Store on Columbia Avenue for several years, both retiring a few years ago. Mr Hildebrand was a member of the First Baptist Church of Greenville. He was a 1926 graduate of Penn High School. He was a member of the US Trotting Assoc., presiding as judge of harness racing in Pennsylvania, Ohio, New York, Illinois and Missouri. Surviving are three sisters, Miss M. Virginia Hildebrand, Portland, Ore; Mrs William (Betty) RAUTIO, Seattle Washington; and Mrs Howard (Hannah) DENHAM, Peru, Indiana; an aunt, Miss Mary Hildebrand....(newspaper clipping ended).
