R. Lawrence HILDEBRAND, former president judge of Lawrence County and father of Mrs. Walter L. PARKER, Hickory Twp, died at 3pm Monday at his home 1101 Delaware Avenue, New Castle. He was 82. His early schooling was received in New Castle. He was graduated from New Castle High School and entered Grove City College. He worked in a tin mill and taught school in Shenango Twp. during these years to help finance his college education. Six years following his graduation from college he was admitted to the bar of Lawrence County in 1909. Since that time he had been admitted to the Supreme and Superior Courts of Pennsylvania and the United States District Court for Wetern Pennsylvania. He served as district attorney of Lawrence County from 1922-1926 when he was elected Judge of Lawrence County Courts. He served as president judge 10 years retiring from the bench in 1936. Later he became associated in law practive with his son Merle H. Hildebrand. Surviving are his wife Olive STUDEBAKER Hildebrand; his son, Merle, New Castle; three daughters, Marian, wife of Walter L. Parker, Hickory Twp, Mrs Bruce HEADLAND and Mrs David S. PROVANCE both of New Castle; a brother Herman C. Hildebrand South Orange NJ and six grandchildren. Burial will be Thursday in Oak Park Cemetery, New Castle.
