George Polkabla - last rites were held yesterday for George Polkabla, who died unexpectedly at his home on Monday.
Mr. Polkabla was born in Czechoslovakia, but came to this country at an early age. He spent most of his life in the Allison, Pa and Stoneboro areas.
He is survived by his wido, Marie Varmega Polkabla; five sons, Joe and Mike, Campbell, O; George, Parma, O; Steve RD 1 Jakson Center; and Andy, at home; two daughters, Mrs. Julia Sauer, Pittsburgh, and Miss Margaret Polkabla, at home; a brother Steve, Ritcheyville, Pa; and another brother and two sisters in Europe.
Solemn requiem high mass was celebrated at St. Columbkille's Church, Stoneboro, with Rev. Earnest F. McIntyre as celebrant. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers were William Snyder, Arthur Baxter, Edgar Voorhies, Henry McGill, Burt Burrows and Harry Haggerty.
