Funeral will be held Friday for Mrs. Anna M. Gelesky of 2 Broadway, Farrell, widow of Andrew Gelesky. She died of a heart attack at 9:30 am Tuesday in her home. She was 90.
Mrs. Gelesky was born in Austria, Hungary, June 26, 1882, to Andrew and Mary Brohovsky Horvath.
She and her husband moved to Farrell in 1926 and began operating a grocery store and gas station, two of the early businesses in Farrell.
Mrs. Gelesky had been a resident of the United States since 1902, first living in Monongahela.
She was a member of Jehovah's Witness, Sharon.
She leaves four daughters, Mrs. Eleanor Young and Mrs. Albert (Agnes) Schoessow, both of Poughkeepsie, NY; Mrs. Frank (Anne) Resler of Hickory Township; and Miss Barbara Gelesky, at home; four sons. Lawrence of Hubbard Twp, Hubbard RD 2, Walter of West Middlesex; Sylvester of Ypsilanti, Mich; and Frank of Warren, PA; a sister , Mrs. Mary Haregsin of Cleveland; 24 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.
Her husband whom she married Oct. 30, 1905, died June 24, 1948. A son, Steve died March 5, 1956.
