Mrs. WHALEN Dies;
Ex-Herald employee
Mrs. Hazel M. WHALEN, 553 Sherman Ave, Sharon, widow of Joseph J. WHALEN, died at 8:40 PM Thursday (05/13/1976) in Sharon Regional Hospital where she was a patient six days. She was 72.
Mrs. WHALEN was born in Sharon Oct 21, 1903, to Plummer and Ellen MARTIN KING, and was a lifetime resident of this community.
In 1966, she retired from the form Sharon Herald Metal Decorating Co, where she was employed for five years. Previously she had been employed for 15 years in the engraving department of The Herald.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Church, Sharon, and a former member of the Veteran’s of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, Sharon.
He husband, whom she married July 4, 1921, died April 5, 1969
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Mary Ellen REVNYAK, Parma Ohio, and Mrs. Robert J. (Anna Mae) MUNSON, Sharon; 5 sons, Joseph P. Cleveland Ohio, John E and James A, both at home, Robert E and Patrick J WHALEN, both of Sharon, a sister, Mrs. Rhoda A FORD, Shenango Valley Home for Senior Citizens, Hermitage, 32 Grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Eugene and William; a daughter, Eileen, and a sister, Mrs. Elsie SHERWOOD.
