Mr. Joseph Black, an aged and esteemed citizen, died at his residence in Findley township, on Tuesday last.
Mr. Black was born in Indiana county, April 9, 1802 and came to Mercer county in 1824. He was the father of eleven children, seven of whom are now living, and were present at the funeral on yesterday. The services were held at the First U.P. church of this place, and conducted by Revs. French and Small.
Mr. Black has been a consistent member of the Seceder and U.P. church for forty-eight years past. His loss is deeply felt by his relatives and the entire community.
